JOB TITLE: Director of Infrastructure

Position Summary

Accountable for strategic and tactical management of systems hardware, storage, Backup and Recovery, Database Administration, and Application Administration services. The Director of Infrastructure will lead the design, deployment, management and monitoring of company's infrastructure resources and lead problem analysis discussions with Engineers. Provide leadership by example, leveraging strong organizational, technical, process, and people management skills. Work with vendors, and with peers to develop and coordinate strategy, architecture, roadmap, budget, and execution of IT services.

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage team that operates critical business services, applications and IT Infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, telephony, databases and VM infrastructure
  • Manage IT service desk teams that support all end-user IT services in a fast-paced, high expectation environment
  • Implement and maintain systems architecture and technology roadmaps, including capacity planning and modeling to support short and longer term growth requirements
  • Establish & manage metrics program (define, capture, report), and use to implement improvements to services with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
  • Manage to annual operating and capital budgets
  • Lead vendor management activities, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, maintenance renewals and ongoing vendor relationships
  • Develop and implement Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans for IT

 DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs)

  • Excellent problem solving, root cause analysis skills. Able to readily diagnose system deficiencies and independently design and implement effective solutions to complex technical problems
  • Solid understanding and experience in virtualization technologies, Hardware and OS deployment methodologies
  • Ability to effectively interface with technical and non-technical staff at all the levels of the organization
  • Executive presence, ability to interact with senior leaders and adapt style as needed for technical or non-technical audiences
  • Experienced in analyzing project scope and determining resources needed to meet project demand
  • Experience leading multiple technical initiatives through cross-functional, matrix environments using strong program and project management tools and practices
  • Strong planning and organizational skills. Detail oriented, decisive and goal oriented to consistently exceed objectives
  • Experience architecting, building and supporting IT infrastructure operations

 Required Experience:

  • 10+ years designing and managing LANs and WANs based on Microsoft and Cisco technologies
  • 10+ years building and managing servers and data centers
  • 7+ years developing corporate policy and procedure
  • 5+ years supporting users spread across multiple locations
  • 5+ years in leadership, supervisory or management position is required
  • 5+ years’ experience in an enterprise IT environment with Windows, VMware, SQL, Active Directory, Exchange and SAN storage
  • Strong understanding and experience in ITIL processes
  • Proven expertise in managing IT projects, budgets and vendors
