PURPOSE OF POSITION

Provides instructional and program design expertise for the development and support of online courses and specialized programs. Responsible for assisting  in the design of online coursework/programs and instructional practices, development of learning resources and re-visioning of courses and course segments to both electronic and On the Job Training (OJT) delivery methods. He/she will be accountable for upholding all Moe’s values through the creation and implementation of all training.

  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply a systematic methodology based on instructional theory to create content, deliver systems, and present course content
  • Collaborate with team on instructional design issues
  • Creates customized web-based instructional elements and manages online course development
  • Assemble content that meets specific standards
  • Consults with individual or groups on optimal design on online courses and/or programs
  • Designs and supervises production of learning objects in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, and animation technologies to support online coursework and programs
  • Provides professional and technical support/training to team members
  • Design models that specify a method, that if followed will facilitate the transfer of knowledge, skills and attitude to the recipient of instruction
  • Evaluate new technologies to discover new and better ways to enhance instruction
  • Assist in discovering methods of improving instruction with and without technology
  • Conduct training sessions to rollout and teach the field how to use new technologies and training programs
  • Conduct research studies and assessments evaluating the use of technologies and their impact on learning outcomes
  • Improve upon materials and curricula that are already being used

 Additional Responsibilities

  • Point of contact for all operators in the field, corporate and franchise, for online training
  • Ensure content accuracy and consistency for all systems, programs and materials
  • Assist in writing and editing branded Moe’s content
  • Plan effective distribution channels for individual pieces on content to ensure timeliness and cost effectiveness
  • Ensure consistency between training materials and all standards/manuals/policies
  • Work with 3rd party vendors when necessary to source additional resources or to develop alternative solutions
  • Project management

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate degree and/or 3 years of restaurant or retail operations experience. Management experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience designing and implementing training programs and working with various training technologies
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Experience working with a large franchise community through either operations or training
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning theories and application via successful facilitation and instruction techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to be flexible and effectively work with others as a team
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Possess a high degree of drive with a proven track record of achieving results
  • Excellent communication, organization and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Publisher
  • Understanding of technical writing, user experience, usability, Web 2.0, graphic design/animation and video production
  • Demonstrated ability to identify needs, analyze and logically organize complex information and transform that into professionally designed, engaging and effective training programs
  • Ability to deliver technical knowledge to a wide variety of audiences
  • Ability to deal well with ambiguity and fast-paced change
  • Ability to deliver a positive guest experience
  • Analytical and diagnostic skills; ability to collect, interpret and summarize data
  • High level of detail awareness
  • Preferred expertise in job specific software tools, including Adobe Captivate 5.5 or higher, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, .XML/html, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, Articulate Replay, Snag-it
